Stream your events with Mandolin

With the check of a box and the click of a button, you can stream your events using Mandolin.

Once you've set up an account with Mandolin, all you have to do is select the 'Includes streamed/online services' checkbox on the Event Configuration - Events|Basic page and click 'Set Up'.

Customers must have saved email addresses to purchase admissions to streamed events.

List your events with TheaterMania.com

You can now easily list your events for sale on TheaterMania.com.

All you have to do is select the 'Publish this event to AudienceView consumer sites' checkbox on the Event Configuration - Events|Basic page, select your 'Listing Types' and click 'Marketing Console'.

Your event's 'Logo' and 'URL for Published Event' will be used in the listing.

Online Accessibility

With the goal of reaching the WCAG 2.1 AA standard, we commissioned a third-party audit of a typical AudienceView Unlimited site. The audit recommended a number of changes.

For this release we focused on the highest value changes on the most frequently used pages in the transaction flow:

•Search pages.

•Seat map page.

•Shopping cart page.

•Welcome page.

•Login page.

•Delivery method page.

•Modals/pop-ups like the price type selector on the seat map or the suggested gift pop-up.

•Widgets like the date picker.

These changes include:

•Keyboard accessibility

oThe focus goes to the right place when landing on a page or a pop-up.

oEvery interactive element on the page can now be tabbed to in a logical sequence.

•Appropriate use of buttons and links

oButtons and links may look the same to a sighted user but for a screen reader they’re handled differently.

oIf there's an action on the page or if a form is submitted, then a button is used

oIf there’s an action which leads to a different page, a link is used.

oA ‘Go’ button has been added to change screens on the seat map.

oAll links and buttons now work by pressing ENTER.

•Labels are always associated with their corresponding values in the page structure, so that a screen reader consistently reads the label and then the value.

•In search results:

oVisible alternative text can be used for the availability indicators.

oHidden alternative text designed for screen readers has been added to the ‘Buy’ buttons, which includes the name of the item.

•The contrast ratio of the price zone text colours on the seat page have been fixed.

•Paragraph attributes are used correctly. For example, the event ‘Short Description’ and date are in paragraph tags on the seat map page.

•Data on the shopping cart page is now in a table structure to meet accessibility goals while maintaining a mobile responsive layout.

•Radio buttons on the delivery method page are organized and labeled in a way that a screen reader can understand.

We made the following changes on all pages:

•Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) landmarks and labels have been added to all online pages to help visually challenged users navigate sites more effectively by identifying each piece of content (banner, navigation).

•Language attributes have been added to all online pages so that screen readers can identify the page’s language and pronounce the words correctly.

All of these changes were tested using the widely-used NVDA screen reader in Windows with Firefox and Chrome, and by using a keyboard without a screen reader.

We maintain an on-going self-assessment of AudienceView Unlimited’s accessibility conformance, known as a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT). The VPAT is available by request.
