Card Verification System Settings

The card verification value (CVV/CID/CVV2/CSC) are a security feature meant to ensure that the consumer is in possession of the card at the time of the transaction. It is meant to prevent the use of a card number and expiration date alone.

 

They are located on the front or back of the card, never embossed so they cannot be captured in an imprinter.

 

Card-Security-Numbers

 

To adjust the card verification settings:

1.Open the Registry from the Desktop.

2.Navigate to the System::Configuration::Payment Gateways::Bluefin node.

3.The followings lists the default card verification settings and their meanings:

M: CVV match

U: No CVV data from issuer

P: CVV not processed

?: Unrecognized codes/No CVV data  (none of the above)

cvv_results_rejected

NS

N: CVV does not match

S: Card has CVV, customer says it does not​

4.If you want to reject all transactions without a matching CVV, move the corresponding letters to 'cvv_results_rejected'.
