The card verification value (CVV/CID/CVV2/CSC) are a security feature meant to ensure that the consumer is in possession of the card at the time of the transaction. It is meant to prevent the use of a card number and expiration date alone.
They are located on the front or back of the card, never embossed so they cannot be captured in an imprinter.
To adjust the card verification settings:
1.Open the Registry from the Desktop.
2.Navigate to the System::Configuration::Payment Gateways::Bluefin node.
3.The followings lists the default card verification settings and their meanings:
Field |
Default Value |
Meaning |
cvv_results_accepted |
MUP? |
•M: CVV match •U: No CVV data from issuer •P: CVV not processed •?: Unrecognized codes/No CVV data (none of the above) |

4.If you want to reject all transactions without a matching CVV, move the corresponding letters to 'cvv_results_rejected'.
