Registry Write Lock Timeout

Scroll Previous Top Next More

When batch jobs are being performed via Utilities, any changes made to the application configuration have to wait for the batch job to be completed before they are applied. The pending configuration changes in turn block any new application requests for as long as it takes the Registry update time out to expire.

After every one of these update timeouts the Registry unblocks the waiting requests and then retries to apply the change. This pattern repeats until the configuration change is successfully applied. By default, this happens every 60 seconds.

To change the amount of time between between update timeouts:

1.Open the Registry from the Desktop.

2.Navigate to the System::Configuration node.

3.Enter the amount of time (in seconds) in the 'Registry Write Lock Timeout' field.

4.Click 'Apply'.
A banner confirms that the Registry was updated.
