Using the Display Type column on the Business Intelligence|Results page, you can create pivot extracts. Pivot extracts enable you to combine and compare result members. Pivot extracts can be useful to analyze related information.

Pivot extracts can only be viewed in PDF and on the Preview page.

For example, you can use a BI pivot extract to:

Analyze sales by payment method to discover how customers are purchasing tickets.

Analyze customers with outstanding balances to determine how much is owed.

Analyze customers by their purchases.

A pivot extract is created by defining:

One result member as your source data (Display Type = data),

One result member whose data you want to display as a column (Display Type = horizontal),

At least one result member whose data you want to display as a row (Display Type = vertical), and

Optionally, one result member as your side-total (Display Type = data with side-totals).

When creating a pivot extract, it is important to plan what will be your data, data with side-totals, horizontal display and vertical display. It is best to first add your result members and preview the results. Based on what you see in the results, define how you want to analyze your data.
