You can enable the Facebook Like and Twitter Tweet buttons site-wide.

 

The widgets will appear on the following pages:

seatSelect.asp

mapSelect.asp

miscItemDetails.asp

donationDetail.asp

bundleSelect.asp

giftCertificateDetails.asp

viewOrder.asp

To enable the site-wide widgets:

1.Open Content Management from the Desktop.

2.Select the Sites tab.
The Sites|Search page appears.

3.Search for and select the site that you want to work with.
The Sites|Basic page appears.

4.Select the Applications tab.
The Site|Applications page appears.

5.Select the widget(s) that you want to enable from the 'Applications' field:

Facebook: Enables the Facebook Like button site-wide.

Google+: Google+ has been discontinued.
This option is no longer in use.

Twitter: Enables the Twitter Tweet button site-wide.

6.Click 'Apply'.
A window confirms that the site was updated.

7.Click 'OK'.

 

To get the widgets to appear on the above pages, you have to add an article/link in the sellable item's 'Additional Info' field.

If any sellable items already have articles/links configured in their 'Additional Info' fields, the widgets will automatically appear on the pages listed above.

 

The 'Additional Info' fields can be found on the following pages:

The Event Configuration - Events|Basic page (also known as the 'URL for Published Events' field)

The Product Configuration - Bundles|Details page

The Product Configuration - Miscellaneous Items|Details page

The Product Configuration - Stored Value Items|Details page

The Funds Management - Gift|Details page

If multiple items contain the same link in their 'Additional Info' fields, the Facebook Like counts will be tabulated against the link, and not per item.

 

Configuring an article/link in the Product Configuration - Charges|Details page's 'Additional Info' field will not cause the widgets to appear.

When you add an article/link to an the 'Additional Info' field, the name of the sellable item will become a link online.

It is recommended that you add information relevant to the item in the article.

Facebook Images

Facebook will look at the content of your article and select images from your page that meet the 'share image criteria':

At least 200px by 200px,

A maximum aspect ratio of 3:1

A .PNG, .JPEG or .GIF file format

If the article configured against the Facebook Like button has a number of images within its content, Facebook selects the image that is the best match for the like widget.

To display a specific image within the Facebook Like box you need to add an open-graph meta tag by completing the following:

1.Open Content Management from the Desktop.

2.Select the Articles tab.
The Articles|Search page appears.

3.Search for an select the article that you want to reference in the like widget.
The Articles|Basic page appears.

4.Select the Applications tab.
The Articles|Applications page appears.

5.Click 'Add META Tag'.
A new meta tag row appears.

6.Select Open Graph Image from the 'Name' dropdown.

7.Enter the image name, including the file extension, in the 'Value' field.

8.Click 'Apply'
A window confirms that the article was updated.

9.Click 'OK'.

You can enter the article's URL into the Facebook debug tool to see where and how everything is pulled from from the article.

 

 

Known Limitations

1.The 'Additional Info' field will provide the page that the action will be performed against. For example, if the field contains a link to a Facebook page, when people use the Twitter widget they will be tweeting about the Facebook page

2.If the 'Additional Info' field contains a link to an article, the Facebook widget will allow users to write a comment in their posts, but the comment/post will not appear anywhere.
