A screen is an overlay of a portion of the venue map used to hold a virtual representation of seats. When users view a venue map, seats are displayed based on the selected screen. Users can then easily view and pick seats from the venue map.
A venue must have at least one screen, but may have multiple screens. For example, you may have one screen to represent the main floor of your venue, and another screen to represent the mezzanine or balcony.
A small venue may only use a single screen to define its seating configuration. When the venue is too large to fit in a single image, multiple screens are used.
If the seating sections are small, you may want to group them into one screen.
Information Screens are not required for General Admission venues. If you are working with a general admission venue, a message will appear on this page indicating that they are not required. |
Caution It is recommended that you create a screen that can hold a maximum of 500 to 750 seats. Exceeding this number would be too small for viewing and rendering. By creating multiple screens, users will be able to move between them. |
The following sections describe how to work with screens:
•Avoid overlapping screens. A seat placed in the same position on two overlapping screens actually represents two seats.
•If you are using a background image for the venue, ensure that all seating areas on the venue map are positioned within a screen.
•Screens need to be sized large enough to minimize the number of screens used in a venue, while being small enough that users can easily view and select individual seats. It may take a few tries to find an appropriate screen size for your venue. Create one screen and perfect its sizing, relative to the size of the seats, before moving on to create the rest of the screens.
