The Product Configuration - Charges|Location page allows you to create a service charge (tax) associated with an address field (postal code) and multiple string values (M5V 1R2 when the address field is postal code). An item (miscellaneous item) can be configured with a number of these location-based charges. When the item is ordered, the charge that is applied to the item will depend on the shipping address in the order. If the order does not have a customer or the location does not match, then the location-restricted charge is not applied.

Hint

Do not create separate rows using the same Include 'Condition' and 'Address Field' option. Each row acts like its own rule.

For example, if one row has:

Condition: Include

Address Field: Country

Address Value: Canada

and another row has:

Condition: Include

Address Field: Country

Address Value: USA

the system will try to match addresses containing both countries and will find none.

Instead, create a single row with all of the applicable 'Address Values'.
