Worksheet

Use this worksheet to plan your price type configuration before you start building them.

For more information about configuring price types, refer to Legends - Price Types.

Price types are what you pick to add seats to an order. They work in combination with a seat’s price zone to determine the price of admission.

How do you currently structure your event pricing? Do you offer a different price for an adult, senior, student or child? If your senior and student ticket price is the same, would it be helpful in your reporting to see those broken out?

Here are the price types typically included:

Child

Complimentary (Artist)

Complimentary (House Seats)

Concession / Discount

Drink Package

Full Price

Group

Member

Senior / OAP

Student

Subscription / Season

Price types need unique names. It’s the price types’ name that appears in reporting. The ‘Displayed Label’ is what you see in the system, and that value doesn’t need to be unique. If there is a situation where two price types with the same label are available, you’ll see the price type’s ‘Name’ in parenthesis. You won’t see the price type name in parenthesis when selecting seats from the seat map in Customer Services. You will confirm you selected the correct price type once you arrive on the Order|Summary page.

Use the ‘Displayed Label’ to streamline your purchase options across single ticket and bundle ticket sales. You could create a price type with the name Single Ticket - Adult with the display label of Adult. For a bundle sale, you could configure a price type of called Bundle Ticket - Adult with a display label of Adult. Your customers see an Adult price type regardless of whether they’re purchasing a bundle or an event ticket, but you’ll see the breakdown of single tickets and bundle tickets on your Ticket Sales reports.

Set the ‘Map Symbol’ to see which price types customers used to purchase seats on the Seat Map. You can use upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols. Use upper case letters to signify single tickets while using lower case letters for bundle seats. You can use more than one character, but keep in mind that letters may overlap depending on the spacing between seats in your venue image, making it difficult to discern the price type based on the map symbol.

Assign a group to your price types. Many sales reports can be output either by price type name or price type group. While a group isn’t necessary, pick a group for your price types if you’re looking for a summary using larger buckets, like grouping all complimentary tickets. You can add additional groups by adjusting the Price Type Groups list in General Configuration.

If you need to restrict specific delivery methods based on a price type, you can select the applicable delivery methods.
