You can control which pages groups can view. This is generally done to prevent users from viewing or accessing pages that they do not have permission to use.
Giving a group the ability to see a tab does not give the group permission to perform any functions. Likewise, if you give a group permission to perform a function, ensure that the group can view the content page.
You can use the Group|Content page to control the visibility of pages in the Desktop, and control access to other sales channels and tools (online, kiosk and access control).
