AudienceView Unlimited 7  Product Guides

Groups define the functionality a user has for permission to view and perform within AudienceView. For example, a group specifies whether a user can create, modify or delete an item in the application, what pages he or she can view, and so on. Groups and roles work together to define a user’s experience with the application. For example, for users to sell tickets, they must be given access to the event (by means of their role) and access to selling functionality (by means of their group). For more information on roles, refer to Application Security - Roles.

Information

Some permissions affect each other, so consider your users’ needs carefully. For example, to give a user's group permission to modify an existing bundle you must also give the user's group permission to search for existing bundles.

If a user belongs to multiple groups with different levels of permission, users are again granted the combined permission.

The Security by Group Report enables you to view the attributes, content, permissions or users for selected groups. You can use this report to view a group’s settings at a glance.
