To create a ticket template:

1.Open General Configuration from the Desktop.

2.Select the Tickets tab.

The Tickets|Search page appears.

3.Click 'Create New'.

The Tickets|Basic page appears.

4.Complete the following fields:

a.Name: Enter a unique identifier for the ticket template.

b.Description: Enter a brief description of the ticket template

c.Type: Select the type of ticket template you are creating.

oDelivery Method: Associated with a delivery method (address card).

oGift Certificate/Card: A gift certificate or gift card template.

oPass: A pass template.

oPayment Method: Associated with a payment method (receipt, signature card).

oSeat: Associated with a seat (an admission ticket).

oService Charge: Associated with a service charge or miscellaneous item.

oVoid: Associated with voided items.

d.Device Type: Select the type of device that will be used to print the ticket:

oFGL 2: Friendly Ghost Language (FGL), Version 2. Most ticket printers use a version of this language.

oFGL 4: FGL, Version 4

oPDF: Acrobat PDF format; used for email/downloaded tickets.

oWindows: Microsoft Windows format; used for most non-ticket printers.
 
To check which version of FGL your printer uses, perform a test print by selecting the 'Test' or 'Test Print' button on your printer (not in the system). The FGL version will be printed on the test ticket.
 

e.Orientation: Select how the ticket will be displayed:

oLandscape: Orients the tickets horizontally.

oPortrait: Orients the tickets vertically.

f.Stock Image: Optionally, enter the relative path and file name of an image that you want displayed when adding elements to your ticket. The path is relative from the %AudienceView%\UI\Desktop\Config. This image does not get printed with the ticket, but can be used as guide for placing ticket elements in the right location.

g.Stock Type: Select the type/size of paper that the ticket will be printed on.

h.Width: Enter the width of the ticket, in pixels. If you leave this field blank it defaults to 0.

i.Height: Enter the height of the ticket, in pixels. If you leave this field blank it defaults to 0.

j.DPI: Enter the number of dots per inch (DPI) for your printer’s output, for example 200 or 300. If you are unsure of the DPI, refer to the manual for your printer

k.Rank: The preferred order to use when determining the stock to use when printing the ticket.

l.Stock: Select the preferred type/size of paper that the ticket will be printed on.

5.Click 'Create'.
A window confirms that the ticket template was created.

6.Click 'OK'.
You do not have to create the template before adding a device, but remember to save your work frequently.

7.Add a printer device to the ticket template.

8.Once you have devices, you can add elements to the ticket template.
