When users log in, they may, depending on the payment processor in use, need to select a payment terminal.
By setting a 'Location' and assigning it to a group, you can control which payment terminal (and printer) options appear to users.
The following payment gateways require a terminal:
•Servebase (for swiped transactions only)
•TenderRetail

Caution
After adding a new terminal or changing an existing one, you must restart the server.
|
Once you have created terminals, they are available for users to select when they log in. If you are using online sales, you must configure which terminal to use. If your organization uses scheduled payments, you must also set the terminal the terminal to be used when processing scheduled payments. For more information, refer to Setting the Payment Processor Terminal ID.

To add a new terminal:

5.Click 'New Value'.
6.Complete the following:
a.Key: Enter the terminal number.
b.Label: Enter a name for the payment terminal (Box Office Payment Terminal 1).
c.Terminal Location: Select the physical location where the payment terminal is situated (Window 1, Gate 3).
By assigning 'Locations' to payment terminals and (printers), you can better control the available payment terminals.
When a user selects this location from the Change Your Settings dialog box (SHIFT+ S), only the payment terminals assigned the location will be available.
If there is only one valid payment terminal available to the user, it is selected by default.
If a 'Location' is set, then the terminals with that location and all of the terminals without locations will be available to the user. If no location is set, then only the terminals that do not have a location will be available to the user.
Locations are added using the Location list.
7.For each entry for this terminal, repeat the process from Step 5.
8.Click 'Apply'.
