Duplicate Account Criteria

Scroll Previous Top Next More

You can set criteria to identify when a duplicate customer is being created.

1.Open the Registry from the Desktop.

2.Navigate to the System::Business Objects::TScustomerBO node.

3.Select the criteria that you want to use from the 'duplicate account criteria' field (last name, street address, email address).

4.Click 'Apply'.
A banner confirms that the Registry was updated.

If you try to create a customer using similar information contained in an existing customer, you will receive a warning message (5374) indicating the possible duplicate customer number(s) and the duplicated information.

Information

To receive the warning message, the customer must meet all of the criteria set in the Registry.

The new customer can still be created, but the duplicate customer number will appear in the 'Duplicate Customer' field under Customer State section of the Customer Services - Customer|Basic page for the newly created customer (not for the existing customer). To show the duplicate customer information in Customer Services, the user's group must have the showDupCustomerInfo property selected on TScustomerBO  (Application Security - Group|Permissions page).

Hint

The warning message (5374) can be suppressed for the Internet role to avoid possible confusion for customers. The potential duplicate customer number will still be placed in the new customer's Customer|Basic page, so a BI can be run to find duplicated customers.
