Organizations that offer customer's large numbers of memberships or use the membership functionality on a larger scale such that a customer will possess several different memberships at one time, the display allows the user to determine which memberships are due to expire more easily.
There is a well defined sort order for memberships that are displayed in the Customer Services - Customer|Basic page. Memberships are displayed in reverse chronological order of their expiry dates. Valid memberships will display at the top of the list in the Membership Level group box followed by those that are about to expire or have expired.

As memberships approach their expiry dates, the name of the memberships display in the Membership Level group box in a different colour. There is an expiry date duration configured in the Registry to which the expiry date for the membership is compared. The colour of the text is changed based on the proximity of the expiry date of the membership to the current date and determining whether the date is within the configured expiry date interval. Four different colours apply:
•Green/Current/Future: The span of time between the membership's 'Valid To' date and the current date is greater than the duration set in 'expiring start interval' field in the Registry.
Memberships with future 'Valid From' dates also appear in green. This is to inform you that a membership has been applied to the customer account.
•Orange/Expiring: The span of time between the membership's 'Valid To' date and the current date is less than or equal to the duration set in 'expiring start interval' field in the Registry.
•Red/Expired: The current date has passed the expiry date of the membership.
Clicking on one of the memberships will open the Customer Services - Customer|Entitlements|Memberships page, allows you to view the details of each membership.
|
The text colour used to display memberships on the Customer Services - Customer|Basic page is determined by calculating the difference between the current date and the membership's 'Valid To' date.
|
Information
For example, if the current date is January 27, 2024 and the membership's 'Valid To' date is April 17, 2024 the difference between the two dates is 80 days.
|
Once this difference is calculated, it is compared to a value stored in the Registry in the System::Business Object::TSCustomerBO node.
The 'Archiving Start Interval' and the 'Expiring Start Interval' fields control all four of the statuses/colours and are time duration fields (entering +90D in both fields would set 'Archiving Start Interval' and the 'Expiring Start Interval' dates to 90 days from the membership's creation date).
The difference between the current date and the 'Valid To' date is compared to the duration stored in the 'Expiring Start Interval' field, determining the colour of the text.
|
The number of archived memberships and/or the minimum number of live (not archived) memberships that will display on the Customer Services - Customer|Basic page are controlled in the Registry - System::Application::Customer node 'Membership Display Minimum' field.
Any archived memberships above the threshold set in the 'Membership Display Minimum' field will not be displayed.
|
Information
For example, if the 'Membership Display Minimum' field is set to 3, and the customer has 10 memberships and 4 are Archived, only 6 memberships will display (all of the Current, Expiring or Expired memberships). If the customer has 4 memberships and all 4 are archived, only 3 will display.

Hint
It is strongly advise that a membership never be created without a 'Valid To' date. This is the date that the membership is no longer visible on the Customer Services - Customer|Basic page. It is not possible to reversion a membership and add 'End Date' (the last date for sale) or 'Valid To' date (the last date is will be valid against each customer/usually duration).
