Information Currently, sound notifications are not available to the AudienceView Unlimited Scan app. |
If your mobile computer can play sounds, you can use the Registry to configure the notifications that play when scanning tickets. To modify the notification sound in the Registry, you must know the path and file name of the .WAV file you want to use on the mobile computer. The default location for .WAV files is in the UI\GateManagement\sounds folder. Users can disable sounds on their mobile computer as turning off sounds can help save power and prolong battery life.
If you are using DataWedge and Internet Explorer for bar code capture, the .WAV file configured in the Registry will play in addition to any DataWedge notification settings. For more information on mobile computer notifications, refer to Configuring Notifications on a Mobile Computer. If you are using Symbol PocketBrowser to access Access Control, only the Registry settings are used. For more information, refer to Symbol PocketBrowser Configuration (MC3090).
Caution If using a scanner with no external speaker, the following nodes in the Registry will need to be modified to remove the .WAV file: •Registry::EN::Application::GateManagement::Notification node's 'Fail Sound' field •Registry::EN::Application::GateManagement::Notification node's 'Pass Sound' field If the .WAV file is not removed, the scanner could crash when tickets are scanned because the scanner will not know how to handle the .WAV file. It will however still make internal sounds, such as different frequencies of beep to denote pass or fail. To determine whether your MC3090 model has speakers, refer to Identifying Whether Your MC3090 Model Can Play Sounds. |
To modify notification sounds:
1.Open the Registry from the Desktop.
2.Navigate to the Registry::EN::Application::Gate Management::Notification node.
3.Update the path and file name of the .WAV file in the 'Fail Sound' and 'Pass Sound' fields.
Enter the file name in the format \<path>\<wave_file>.wav, where <path> is the path to the file on the mobile computer and <wave_file> is the name of the .WAV file.
By default the following paths and file names are:
▪Fail Sound: \GateManagement\Sounds\badticket.wav
▪Pass Sound: \GateManagement\Sounds\goodticket.wav
Information If you are using non-Windows devices, you must use slashes (/) instead of backslashes (\) |
