To assign subsystem attributes to an existing group:
1.Open Application Security from the Desktop.
2.Select the Groups tab.
The Group|Search page appears.
3.Search for and select the group that you want to work with.
The Groups|Basic page appears.
4.Select the Attributes tab.
The Group|Attributes page appears.
5.Select the subsystem you want to work with from the list on the left side of the page.
6.Click 'Add Rule'.
A set of fields display.
7.Complete the following fields:
a.Attribute Name: Select the attribute (field) that you want to use.
If the dropdown is empty, click to select the attribute from the Attribute dialog box.
b.Label: Enter a name for the selected field that will appear to the group in the application (naming a data field).
c.Default Value: Enter/select a value to set a default value for the selected field.
The available options vary by attribute.
d.Min Value: Optionally, enter a minimum value for the selected field.
e.Max Value: Optionally, enter a maximum value for the selected field.
f.Subtype: Optionally, select the way you want data to be presented or validated.

g.Help Text: Not currently in use.
h.Mode: Specifies the accessibility of this marketing data field. The mode options are:
•Unbound: Specifies whether the field is bound to the specified list (No) or enabled for users to enter their own value (Yes).
•Persistable: Specifies that the field information can be saved to the database.
•Optional: Specifies whether the field is optional.
•Readable: Select Yes to enable users to see this field on their interface.
•Writeable: Select Yes to enable users to set a value for this field.
•Masked: Select Yes to enable data masking. You must then specify how to mask the data using the 'Mask' field.
The three possible settings are:
•Default: The generally anticipated use of the field.
•Yes: The field option is active ('Optional' set to Yes indicates an optional field).
•No: The field option is not active ('Optional' set to No indicates a mandatory field).
8.For each attribute that you want to define for the selected subsystem, repeat the process from Step 6.
9.For each subsystem that you want to work with, repeat the process from Step 5.
10.Click 'Apply'.
A window confirms that the group was updated.
11.Click 'OK'.
A appears next to the subsystem name, indicating that the group has an attribute configured against it.
