You can create links in an article to specific articles. When users click on the link, they will be directed to that particular article. You can insert the generated URL or a friendly URL depending on whether one was configured in the selected article's Article|Basic page 'Permalink' field.

Caution
Special characters (-, ., ', ", /, etc.) and spaces cannot be used in the 'Permalink' field. The corresponding article will not render properly Online.

To build a link to an article:
1.Open Content Management from the Desktop.
2.Select the Articles Tab.
The Articles|Search page appears.
3.Search for and select the article that you want to work with.
The Articles|Basic pages appears.
4.Select the Text tab.
The Articles|Text page appears.
5.Ensure that the 'Source' button is not selected. Selecting the 'Source' button activates the source code editor of the article and will not allow you to use the Rich Text editor.
6.Enter the article text for the link ('Click HERE for more information').
7.Highlight the text that you want to build the article link upon ('HERE' in 'Click HERE for more information').
If no text is selected, the link will be created using the selected article name. The link will be inserted at the position of the cursor.
8.Click 'Build Link' and select one of the following:
Articles
a.Search for and select the article that you want to link to.
b.Before selecting the article, optionally, select a value to categorize the link that you are embedding in the message from the 'Link Name' dropdown.
Entries available from the 'Link Name' dropdown are defined in the Link Name list.

For example, you could insert a 'Link Name' of Electronic to any links that are related to electronic music events. Then you can create a Correspondence BI query using the Response Link Name criteria or a Customer BI query using the Correspondence Response Link Name criteria to target customers who clicked on an Electronic link.

c.Select the article.
d.If the article that you have selected is not assigned a 'Context Type', a code for a link to the selected article appears in the 'Link' and 'Link Tag' fields.
i.If you want to use the generated URL (online only), contine to Step 9.
ii.If you want to use the Link Tag for the Desktop and online, continue to Step 10.
e.If information was entered in the selected article's Articles|Basic page 'Permalink' field, then the 'Permalink' field will also be populated. If you want to use the friendly URL, continue to Step 11.

a.Search for and select the bundle that you want to link to.
A code for a link to the selected bundle appears in the 'Link' and 'Link Tag' fields.
b.Optionally, select a value to categorize the link that you are embedding in the article from the 'Link Name' dropdown.
Entries available from the 'Link Name' dropdown are defined in the Link Name list.

a.Search for and select the event that you want to link to.
A code for a link to the selected event appears in the 'Link' and 'Link Tag' fields.
b.If you have selected a:
i.Reserved seat event: The link will default to the map select page.
ii.GA event: The link will default to the best available page.
iii.Mixed reserved and GA event: The link will default to the map select page.
Using the 'Change to Best Available' button next to the 'Link' field you can determine whether the link to a reserved seat or mixed event will direct users to the best available page instead.
b.Optionally, select a value to categorize the link that you are embedding in the article from the 'Link Name' dropdown.
Entries available from the 'Link Name' dropdown are defined in the Link Name list.

A code for a link to the selected miscellaneous item appears in the 'Link' and 'Link Tag' fields.
b.Optionally, select a value to categorize the link that you are embedding in the article from the 'Link Name' dropdown.

9.If you want to use the article/link online only, click 'Insert Link'.
The article link is inserted.
10.If you want use the article/link in the Desktop and online, then click 'Insert Link Tag'.
The article link tag is inserted.
11.If you want to use the friendly URL, click 'Insert Permalink'.
The article permalink is inserted.
12.For every article link that you want to add, repeat the process from Step 6.
13.Click 'Apply'
A window confirms that the article was updated.
14.Click 'OK'.
