This section describes how to create a more complex dynamic value to abbreviate the admission section name from Orchestra to ORCH. You will need to use the Dynamic Value Attribute list when defining what system fields are to be used.
When you create a dynamic value, you must know the name of the element that you want to work with. For a complete list of elements and their syntax, refer to the General Configuration - Lists|Entries page of the short TSorderBO parameters list or Ticket Template Attributes.
To create a conditional dynamic value:
1.Open General Configuration from the Desktop.
2.Select the Tickets tab.
The Tickets|Search page.
3.Search for and select the template that you want to use a conditional dynamic value with.
The Tickets|Basic page appears.
4.Select the Dynamic Values tab.
The Tickets|Dynamic Values page appears.
5.Click 'Add Value'.
The application inserts fields in the rules area.
6.Enter Section in the 'Name' field.
Elements must be enclosed in braces ({}) and double colons (::) must separate the node from its data element. You can use characters (hyphens, signs or spaces) between elements if required. For example, {Contact::last_name}, {Contact::first_name}. For more examples, refer to Example Dynamic Values.
7.Enter {Admissions::section} in the 'Default Pattern' field. For more information on the syntax, refer to Creating a Simple Dynamic Value.
8.Click 'Add Rule' to open a blank record.
9.Enter 1 in the 'Position' field.
10.Enter ORCH in the 'Pattern' field.
11.Click 'Add Condition' to add a new row in the conditions section.
12.Select Admissions Section from the 'Parameter' dropdown.
13.Select Contains from the 'Operator' dropdown.
14.Enter Orchestra in the 'Value' field.
15.Click 'Apply'.
A window confirms that the ticket template was updated.
16.Click 'OK'.
Once saved, the element appears on the Tickets|Elements page in the 'Conditional Value' and 'Left Condition' lists as Dynamic Value::Section.
