AudienceView Unlimited Product Guides

Once a group has been created, it must be assigned permissions to define what actions the group can perform. Permissions can be defined for each AudienceView’s subsystem. There are two types of subsystems:

BO Subsystems: Refers to Business Objects and encompasses all actions other than searching for records.

CO Subsystems: Refers to Collection Objects which are used to search for records.

Information

If you want a ticket seller to be able to run the Customer Biography report from Customer Services - Customer|Basic page, give the group all of the permissions and use the content to prevent the group from accessing Business Intelligence and Reports.

For each subsystem you can specify what actions the group can perform. Keep in mind that giving access to an activity may also rely on access to another activity. For example, if you enable a group to modify an item, you should also enable the group to search for the item.

To define permissions for an existing group:

1.Open Application Security from the Desktop.

2.Select the Groups tab.
The Group|Search page appears.

3.Search for and select the group that you want to work with.
The Groups|Basic page appears.

4.Select the Permissions tab.
The Group|Permissions page appears.

5.Select the subsystem that you want to work with from the list on the left side of the page.

Information

Some of the actions that permissions can be given for are not currently exposed in the user interface. For example, for the TSserviceChargeBO you can give the action Save Copy. However, this action is not available on the UI.

The Actions section appears on the right side of the page. This list displays all of the available actions that can be performed for that subsystem. Select the action(s) from the Actions list that you want to grant to the group. Those actions that you select will be enabled.

6.Add any filtering for the subsystem.

7.For each subsystem you want to work with, repeat the process from Step 5.

8.Click 'Apply'.
A window confirms that the group was updated.

9.Click 'OK'.
A clipBoard.jpg appears next to the subsystem name, indicating that the group has an attribute configured against it.
