Ensure you have:

Created users which will be assigned to the group. If these have not been created, you can assign them at any time.

To create a new group:

1.Open Application Security from the Desktop.

2.Select the Group tab.
The Group|Search page appears.

3.Click 'Create New'.
The Group|Basic page appears.

4.Complete the following:

a.Name: Enter a name for the group.

b.Description: Optionally, enter a short description of the group.

c.Locations: Select the physical location where the group is situated (Window 1, Gate 3). By assigning 'Locations' to payment terminals and printers in the Registry, you can better control the available payment terminals and printers. The locations selected here will be available in the list of 'Locations' presented in the Change Your Settings dialog box (SHIFT+ S). If a user is in multiple groups all of the valid locations will be available. If the user has only one valid location, it is selected by default.

5.Select the user(s) that you want to assign to the new group from the Available Users list.

You can also assign existing or new users to a group from the Application Security - Users|Basic page.

6.Click '>' to move the selection(s) to the Assigned Users list.
You can remove users from a group by highlighting the user in the Assigned Users list and clicking '<'.

7.Enter additional data to be captured for your organization’s needs in the group data section.

8.Select the Permissions tab.
The Group|Permissions page appears.

9.Configure permissions to define what actions members of the group can perform.

10.Select the Attributes tab.
The Group|Attributes page appears.

11.Configure attributes to control the fields that are displayed to the members of the group.

12.Select the Search Filters tab.
The Group|Search Filter page appears.

13.Configure search filters to restrict which records members of the group can search for and open through.

14.Select the Content tab.
The Group|Content page appears.

15.Configure group content to control which pages members of the group can access.

16.Click 'Create'.
A window confirms that the group was created.

17.Click 'OK'.
