The Business Intelligence|Formulas page allows you to perform calculations that can be exported via a BI query and then imported into specific fields using the Utilities - Data Management.

To add a formula to an existing BI query: 1.Open Business Intelligence and Reports from the Desktop 2.Select the Business Intelligence tab. 3.Search for and select the business intelligence (BI) query that you want to work with. 4.Select the Formulas tab. 5.Click 'Add Formula' 6.Enter a name for the formula in the 'Name' field.
7.Enter the formula that you want to use in the 'Formula' field. a.The formula: ocan only contain numbers, result members and math symbols (+, -, *, /, (, ), <, >, <=, => and =). omust be structurally reasonable (opening and closing brackets). omay include = operator that allows direct assignment of an ouput value that may be alphanumeric. b.Click 'Add Member' to use a result member as part of the calculation (seat).
a.Search for and select the result member that you want to insert into your formula.
b.Complete the remainder of the formula, including mathematical symbols. 8.Enter a number in the 'Order' field. This is the order in which multiple formulas will be calculated. 9.For every formula that you want to add, repeat the process from Step 5. 10.To verify the formula's results, select the Results tab. 11.Click 'Add One' 12.Search for and select the formula that you just created. 13.Click 'OK'. 14.Select the Preview tab. 15.The formula and the returned results appear. Ensure that the formula returns the appropriate results. 16.Select the Results tab. 17.Click 'Apply' 18.Click 'OK'.

To delete a formula from an existing BI query: 1.Open Business Intelligence and Reports from the Desktop 2.Select the Business Intelligence tab. 3.Search for and select the business intelligence (BI) query that you want to work with. 4.Select the Formulas tab. 5.Select the 'del ?' check box next to the formula that you want to delete. 6.Click 'Update Details'. 7.Select the Results tab. 8.Click 'Apply' 9.Click 'OK'. |
