Any query that has been saved can be copied to make a new query with a different name, which can then be modified. This is useful when you are creating a new query that is very similar to a query you have already saved or to modify a query created by another user.
Hint When updating a preloaded, default BI query it is recommended that you save a copy of the BI and update the copied version. |
Information You can only view and copy a query created by another user if it was saved as Public or Readable. |
To copy a saved query:
1.Open Business Intelligence and Reports from the Desktop.
2.Select the Business Intelligence tab.
The Business Intelligence|Search page appears.
3.Search for and select the business intelligence (BI) query that you want to work with.
The Business Intelligence|Results page appears. The current result members are displayed in the result members section.
4.Expand the save lists and extracts section.
5.Enter a name for the new query in the 'Name' field.
6.Modify the query:

7.Click 'Save Copy'.
A window confirms that the query was created.
8.Click 'OK'.
You do not need to save your changes to view or extract the results.
