Gates are the physical entrance or exit point of a venue, and zones are the areas on either side of a gate (in and out). Gates can be used to permit or restrict access to zones.
Zones should be configured before gates are created. For more information, refer to Configuring Venue Zones.
You can use the Event Configuration - Events|Gates page to specify the areas your customers can access when entering or leaving their seat section for a particular event.

The gates section provides an overview of the gates that have already been configured against the venue.

The following image illustrates the access rules section of the Event Configuration - Events|Gates page:
The access rules section of the Event Configuration - Events|Gates page contains the following properties:
Property |

Start Time Offset |
The amount of time prior to the 'Start Date/Time' (defined on the Events|Basic page) that customers can access the gate. Click to select a date or to select a duration. |

Sections |

If you do not specify a section, tickets holders will be granted access through a gate based on the event or zone information. |
Row Start |
Enter the first row that you want to allow access via the gate. |
Row End |
Enter the last row that you want to allow access via the gate (if A is entered in the 'Row Start' field and C is entered in the 'Row End' field, only the first three rows of the section can access the gate). |
Seat Start |
Enter the first seat that you want to allow access via the gate. |
Seat End |
Enter the last seat that you want to allow access via the gate (if 1 is entered in the 'Seat Start' field and 5 is entered in the 'Seat End' field, only the first five seats in the specified rows can access the gate). |
