You can create a new article and include basic information in the Articles|Basic page. Once articles are created, they can be used in different areas of the site using the Sites|Basic page. Articles are used to provide more information about your organization or the events that you are producing. You are also able to create articles that display events that are on sale using the 'Body With Search' article type. Basic article information is stored using the Articles|Basic page. Actual content and layout on the page is managed elsewhere.
To create a new article:
1.Open Content Management from the Desktop.
2.Select the Articles tab.
The Articles|Search page appears.
3.Click 'Create New'.
The Articles|Basic page appears.
4.Complete the following fields:
Information Different fields will and will not be available depending upon the type of article. |
▪Name: The name that you want to give the article (Main Article).
▪Description: The description that you want to give the article. This is for your own purposes and is not displayed to the user.
▪Article Type: The type of article. There are four possible article types to choose from:
oBanner: An article used for header and footer information for a site.
oBody: A body article found in the centre-area of the site.
oBody With Search: A body article found in the centre-area of the site that search widgets can be inserted into it to display the results from associated search criteria in the article.

oFeature: An article used for Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Features.
oTemplate: A body article in the centre-area of the site that allows you to insert context fields that will pull information from certain fields configured on the item.

oTemplate with Search: A body article found in the centre-area of the site that allows you to insert context fields that will pull information from certain fields configured on the item. Search widgets can be inserted into it to display the results from associated search criteria in the article.
For example, if you link a Template article to an event using the 'Additional Information' field on the Event Configuration - Events|Basic page, when online users click the more info link, information pertaining to the event will be populated in the appropriate context fields.

▪Page Header: Click to search for the banner article being used for the header of this article.
This is available for the Body, Body With Search, Template and Template With Search article types.
▪Page Footer: Click to search for the banner article being used for the footer of this article.
This is available for the Body, Body With Search, Template and Template With Search article types.
▪Primary Linked Features Display: Select the way that you want the 'Primary Linked Feature' articles to display.
oArticle: Displays the 'Primary Linked Features' defined on the article in the 'Primary Linked Features' field.
oBoth: Displays the 'Primary Linked Features' defined on the article and the Sites|Branding page.
oSite Branding: Displays the 'Primary Linked Features' defined on the Sites|Branding page.
Articles are listed according to their 'Rank'.
▪Primary Linked Features: Click to search for the article(s) to be displayed at the top of the article (containing extra links).
This is available for the Body, Body With Search, Template and Template With Search article types.
▪Secondary Linked Features Display: Select the way that you want the 'Secondary Linked Feature' articles to display.
oArticle: Displays the 'Secondary Linked Features' defined on the article in the 'Secondary Linked Features' field.
oBoth: Displays the 'Secondary Linked Features' defined on the article and the Sites|Branding page.
oSite Branding: Displays the 'Secondary Linked Features' defined on the Sites|Branding page.
Articles are listed according to their 'Rank'.
▪Secondary Linked Features: Click to search for the article(s) to be displayed on the left-hand side of the article (containing extra links).
This is available for the Body, Body With Search, Template and Template With Search article types.
▪Tertiary Linked Features Display: Select the way that you want the 'Tertiary Linked Feature' articles to display.
oArticle: Displays the 'Tertiary Linked Features' defined on the article in the 'Tertiary Linked Features' field.
oBoth: Displays the 'Tertiary Linked Features' defined on the article and the Sites|Branding page.
oSite Branding: Displays the 'Tertiary Linked Features' defined on the Sites|Branding page.
Articles are listed according to their 'Rank'.
▪Sort by: Select the sort field for the search results that will override any rank or weighting.
Select one of the search criteria fields defined on the Article|Criteria page.
This dropdown is only available for Body with Search articles.
▪Tertiary Linked Features: Click to search for the article(s) to be displayed on the right-hand side of the article (containing extra links).
This is available for the Body, Body With Search, Template and Template With Search article types.
▪Sort Order: Select the order in which you want Body with Search articles to sort. This dropdown is only available for Body With Search articles.
▪Keywords: Enter or select (if a list has been bound to the field) the keyword(s) associated to the article to help users search for the article.
▪Rank: This numeric field controls the ordering of the linked feature articles. Articles are ranked in descending order (4 will be ranked before 1).
▪Redirect: Use this to automatically redirect links to the article to another article or external site.
This is useful for old articles that might be published on sites outside of your control or in emails, or to use analytic tools to track the click throughs.
Enter the absolute URL (including https://) or click to search for an article
5.If you want to use article data fields for extracting purposes and have configured the system to track article data in BI, enter it in the 'Article Data 1' through 'Article Data 8' fields as appropriate.
6.Click 'Create'.
A window confirms that the article was updated.
7.Click 'OK'.
