AudienceView Unlimited Product Guides

When creating a Body With Search article, you can create search queries to display results of events, bundles, miscellaneous items, stored value items, gifts and articles that are on-sale/on-calendar to allow users to select these items. The results are displayed in the article, but rely on the insertion of the search results widgets in the body of the article. If 'Search Filters' are defined, then the search filter widget can be inserted so that customers can filter their results.

The 'Search Bar Behaviour' setting (Article|Basic page) determines whether searches are restricted to this article's 'Article Search' criteria (the default) or if they use the global one set on site (Site|Basic page).

To create a search query for your Body With Search article:

1.Open Content Management from the Desktop.

2.Select the Articles tab.
The Articles|Search page appears.

3.Search for and select the article that you want to work with.
The Articles|Basic page appears.

4.Select the Criteria tab.
The Articles|Criteria page appears.

5.Select the type of matches you want to be returned by the search from the 'Search Type' field:

Match Any: Filters the search for records containing one or more of the entered search terms.

Match All: Filters the search for records that contain all of the entered search terms.
For more information, refer to Search Page Settings.

6.Select the way that you want the search to be filtered from the 'Search Filters' field.

Category: Filters the search by similarly defined categories/groups.

City: Filters the search by similarly defined venue city.

Month: Filters the search by similarly defined months of availabilty.

Object Type: Filters the search by similar object types. Object types are automatically defined by item (events, bundles, miscellaneous items, stored value items, gifts and articles).

Venue: Filters search by venue.

Information

To allow Online customers to filter the search results using the criteria above, insert a search filter widget in the body of the article.

7.Enter the number of search results that you want returned on each page of results in the 'Page Size' field.

8.Click 'Add Criteria'.
A new Criteria row appears.

9.Select the field that you want to be used for the search from the 'Field' dropdown. For example, selecting Data 1 will search across all of the available 'Data 1' fields available within events, bundles, miscellaneous items, stored value items, gifts and articles for values that match the customer's search.
For more information on the 'Field' options and where the information is stored against each item, refer to Context Types and Online Searchable Fields.
Depending on the field that is selected, the 'Values' field will change to align with the way the fields work on their respective pages.

10.Select the appropriate filter type that you want to use for the search criteria from the 'Type' dropdown:

Has a Value: The field has any value

Is Blank: In cases where the field is blank.

Match Condition: To match the condition applied.
If you want to include empty values, select Match Condition (include blanks) instead.

Match Condition (Context): To match the condition for the context.

Match Condition (include blanks): To match the condition and include any blanks in the field value.
Depending on the option selected, the 'Operator' and 'Values' fields will change/become unavailable.

11.If applicable, select the way that you want the values in the selected 'Field' to be compared against the 'Value' field from the 'Operator' dropdown:

Begins with: Filters for search results that begins with the entered 'Value'.

Between (including both values):

Contains: Filters for search results that contain the entered 'Value'.
The Contains function performs like Equals, but with some additional wildcard options. This operator can only be used for fields that are strings.

% represents any string of 0 or more characters (%son returns any term that ends in son - Flarson, Carson, Montarson, Son).
The Contains function transparently adds % to the beginning and end of terms, returning results that contain the term within them as well (%son would also return Jacksonville, Samsonite).

_ represents any single character ( _andy returns any term that has a single character before the ending andy - Mandy, Randy, Sandy).

[ ] represents any single character within a specified range or set ([A-C]son returns terms that end in son and begin with A, B or C - Ason, Bson, Cson; [BCL]son returns terms that end in son and begin with B, C or L - Barson, Carson or Larson).

[] represents any single character not within the specified range or set ([^A-C]son returns terms that end in son and do not begin with A, B or C - Larson, Tarson; [^CLT]son returns terms that end in son and do not begin with C, L or T - Barson, Narson).

Does not contain: Filters for search results that do not contain the entered 'Value'

Does not equal: Filters for search results that do not equal the entered 'Value'.
The results will not include any empty values unless the 'Type' is set to Match Condition (include blanks).

End with: Filters for search results that do not end with the entered 'Value'.

Equals: Filters for search results that equal the entered 'Value'.

Greater than: Filters for search results that are greater than the entered 'Value'.

Greater than or equal to: Filters for search results that are greater than or equal to the entered 'Value'.

Less than: Filters for search results that are less than the entered 'Value'.

Less than or equal to: Filters for search results that are less than or equal to the entered 'Value'.

12.If applicable, enter the value that you want to be compared against the selected 'Field' in the 'Value' field.

13.For each criteria that you want to add, repeat the process from Step 8.

14.If you have not already done so, insert the search filter widget in the body of the article on the Article|Text page.
