•Creating a FlashParking Event
•Troubleshooting a FlashParking Event
If you have a FlashParking enabled parking lot, you can create events to sell parking to your customers. Customers can then scan their tickets to gain access to the parking lot on the day of an event. This helps you to sell an entire event experience while generating more revenue, and it reduces the overhead of having a parking attendent physically check parking tickets.
FlashParking events cannot be added to bundles or passes. They can only be used for one, specific parking lot (venue) at a time rather than a guaranteeing a customer a spot at one of your three lots.
When a parking ticket is scanned, only the 'Description', 'Start Date/Time' and 'End Date/Time' information is sent to FlashParking. Because there is no real-time scanning information, you can use event-related reports for FlashParking events, but not the access control reports.
If customers have exchanged some bundle admissions, and they have bundled parking tickets for the same day (or any other additional bundle admissions), a message and a link will be displayed on the Exchange Summary page. The link redirects customers to the Events and Tickets - Exchange page with the same-day admissions already expanded so they can easily exchange their parking too.
Before you create parking event, ensure you have:
•Configured the FlashParking gateway.
•Created a GA venue for the parking lot.
•Created the ticket template that will be used.
Ensure that the template uses the Tickets ticket_barcode 'Computed Value'.
Creating a FlashParking event is very similar to creating a regular event, with a couple of specific settings:
•Description: Enter any information that the customer needs to know like the date/time when they can park, and who to contact if there is an issue.
•Start Date/Time: Click to select a date when customers can start parking in your lot.
•End Date/Time: Click to select a date when customers can no longer park in your lot.
If you leave this blank, the barcode will expire 24 hours (by default) after the 'Start Date/Time'.
•Delivery Gateway: Select FlashParking.
This must be set on each FlashParking event. Currently, this setting does not get pushed down from the venue.
The following lists some common errors that occur with FlashParking:
•Error 1507: Error Contacting The Remote Web Service.
Ensure your login credentials for FlashParking are configured correctly in the Registry.
•Error 1508: The Remote Gateway Had To Be Re-Initialized.
Attempt the transaction again. If the error continues, contact the parking lot management.
•Error 1534: Error Reported By Remote Gateway.
Attempt the transaction again. If the error continues, contact the parking lot management.
•There's an error when reprinting tickets.
The ticket is not in the FlashParking database. Remove the gateway from the event, cancel the tickets, then reattach the gateway. You will then be able to reprint.
•The location is not found.
Ensure the location is correct in the Registry
