Before creating a benefit, ensure you have:
•Created promotions, if required. If these have not been created, you can assign them at any time. If you add a promotion later, customers who already hold the benefit will not earn the promotion.
You must have permission to create a benefit.
To create a benefit:
1.Open Product Configuration from the Desktop.
2.Select the Benefits tab.
The Benefits|Search page appears.
3.Click 'Create New'.
The Benefits|Details page appears.
4.Complete the following fields:
a.Name: Enter a unqiue name of the benefit.
b.Displayed Label - English: Enter the name that you want to display to customers.
If you use multiple languages, you can add a name for each language.
c.Description: Enter a brief description of the benefit.
d.Start Date: Enter the start date for the benefit or click to select a date.
The benefit is only available on or after this date. If you do not enter a date, the current date will b used.
e.End Date: Enter the end date for the benefit or click to select a date.
The benefit is not available for use on or after this date. If you do not enter a date and time, the field is left blank, allowing the benefit to be in effect in definitely.
f.Valid From: Enter the starting date that the benefit is valid relative to the date it is assigned to a customer.
Click to select a date or to select a duration.
g.Valid Until: Enter the duration that the benefit is valid relative to the date it is assigned to a customer.
Click to select a date or to select a duration.
Once the benefit is assigned to a customer, a user can set the 'Valid Until' date, otherwise, this duration is used to calculate the date.
h.Promotion: Click to search for a promotion.
If the promotion does not contain an access code, users that hold the code will automatically gain access to the event, pricing, bundle, and/or miscellaneous items assigned the promotion without having to manually enter the access code. Users must manually enter 'Promotion Access Codes'.
Caution If the benefit has an associated promotion or promotion access code it will expire on the benefit's 'Valid Until' date or the promotion's 'Ending Date', whichever comes first. |
i.Financial Value: Enter the financial value of the benefit, if applicable.
If the benefit will be given to donors, there typically is no financial value. If you do add a value, then it should be deducted from the tax receiptable amount for the donation.
5.If you want to use the stored data values against your benefits and use BI to retrieve information against them, enter the appropriate information in the data fields in the benefit data section:
a.Data [1-8]: Text fields
b.Multidata [1-2]: Multiple data entry fields
6.Optionally, add a note to a benefit.
When a benefit with an attached note is assigned to a customer, the note is automatically created.
a.If the note has a due date, it shows up on the My Notes|Home page for the user who created the note and for any users the note is assigned.
b.If the note does not have a due date, it is only visible on the creator’s My Notes|Notes page and on the customer’s Customer|Notes page.
7.Click 'Create'
A window confirms that the benefit was created.
8.Click 'OK'.
