You can define the price zones for one or more events using the Event Configuration - Admissions Management|Price page, providing that the venue has seats (the entire venue is not general admission). A price zone defines a set of seats within a venue that are all priced at the same level.
Each seat is assigned to a price zone (Orchestra, Balcony) identified by colour and name. Available price zones are configured using Legends. If a seat is not assigned to a price zone, the seat cannot be sold by any user. If this occurs, you will be informed which seats do not have a price zone assigned.
Caution If you do not assign a seat to a price zone, this can have an impact on your single seat strategy. If you do not want to enable the sale of a seat (killing seats), you should remove the seat from the event’s inventory. For more information, refer to Adding an Admission to Multiple Events. |
Once a price zone has been assigned, price charts define the price per zone. The price chart is then attached to an event defining the pricing.
Users can then perform best available searches by price zone.
You can also modify entire price zones using Utilities. For more information, refer to Updating Holds, Price Zones or Fill Zones in a Batch.
To define or modify the price zones for one or more events:
1.Open Event Configuration from the Desktop.
2.Select the Admissions Management tab.
The Admissions Management|Search page appears.
3.Search for and select the event(s) with the price zones that you want to work with by clicking the check box next to each event.
4.Click 'Price'.
The Admissions Management|Price page appears.
5.Select the price zone from the legend. Selecting None will remove the seats from the price zone.
You cannot modify those seats associated to a hold type to which your role does not have access. These seats are faded and cannot be selected. A variety of symbols may appear over some of the seats:
▪X with no Colour: The admission has different price zones across all of the selected events.
▪S: The admission is Sold, and that the price zones match across all of the selected events.
▪R: The admission is On an Offer to all of the selected events.
▪O: The admission is In Flight, and the price zones match across all selected events
▪H: The admission is On Hold, has the same hold type across all of the selected events, price zones match and is it not Sold, On an Offer or In Flight.
▪M: The admission is On Hold, has different hold types across all of the selected events, price zones match and is it not Sold, On an Offer or In Flight.
▪U: The admission is Sold, On an Offer or In Flight for some of the selected events.
6.Paint the seats that you want to add to that price zone.
If you want to:
•Paint many admissions in the same area: Click and drag your mouse to draw a box over the admissions you want to paint.
•Paint a single admission: Click each admission.
7.Click 'Apply'.
A window confirms that the event(s) was/were updated.
8.Click 'OK'.
If you have added a new price zone to the event, you need to create a new price row to attach prices to that price zone.
